Writing Apprenticeship®

WestEd researchers comparing teachers before and after the program found growth across all five areas of the Writing Apprenticeship framework. Here’s what improved:
- strengthening pedagogical skills across key instructional practices
- increasing understanding of the value of effective writing instruction methods
- building confidence in using advanced writing strategies in the classroom
- reframing teachers’ role as guides helping students develop writing knowledge and skills
